Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms govern your use of teachingibfilm.com (“the Site”), operated by Teaching IB Film (“TIBF”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using any paid feature you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Teaching IB Film is an online platform providing lesson plans, screenings, and teaching resources for International Baccalaureate Film educators. Content is licensed for educational use only and may not be redistributed or resold without written permission.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us immediately at contact@teachingibfilm.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid plans (Member and Premium) are billed on a monthly recurring basis. Payments are processed by Stripe. You authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on the renewal date each month. You may cancel at any time via your account profile; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

All prices are in USD. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect.

4. HSCA Access

Members of the Honor Society of Cinematic Arts (HSCA) may receive complimentary access to HSCA-flagged content, verified automatically via the HSCA membership portal. HSCA access is not a paid subscription — it is granted and revoked based on your standing in the HSCA portal.

5. Acceptable Use

You may use Site content for personal study or use in your own classroom. You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display lesson content without written permission.
  • Share account credentials with third parties.
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise systematically extract Site content.
  • Use the Site to harass, defraud, or harm others.

6. Intellectual Property

All original lesson content on the Site is © Teaching IB Film or its contributing authors. Film stills, clip excerpts, and external works are used under fair use / educational exception principles and credited where applicable. If you believe your work is reproduced without authorisation, contact us with a detailed notice.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will be accurate at all times. Lesson materials are intended as a teaching aid, not as official IB guidance — always refer to the current IB Film Subject Guide for authoritative assessment criteria.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TIBF shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or any content therein.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your access to paid content ceases immediately.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or a prominent notice on the Site. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TIBF is registered. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

12. Contact
